I was able to work with Cody, and to be honest, part of the reason I decided to get additional things done was because he was completely relatable and down-to-earth. I had my 37 year old home boiler system replaced by Hughes Mechanical and I could not be more pleased with the overall installation done and the skill, craftmanship, and professionalism from the installation team that performed the work. Chad was the team lead on the project and his knowledge, skill, and attention to detail was on full display from start to finish. Having spent my career in project management on large construction projects, it was quite refreshing to watch Chad and his team perform at such a high level of expertise and his interaction with me with the installation details was first rate and unexpected to say the least. Hughes installed a 5 head mini-split system in an older house in Lauraville, MD. The project required running lines through older style exterior asbestos shingles, adding a breaker to the panel, and mounting the heat pump in an exterior location that would make the line runs efficient. In order to hit our budget, we chose to limit the overall number of units installed, and Chad was able to select sizes and locations for the heads to address the house's somewhat tricky layout because of the need to close off portions to control pet access to certain rooms. Chad's obvious experience and understanding of how the systems operate and how their installations are best achieved was reassuring through the quoting process. Along with his knowledge, his willingness to work on a solution to help meet our budget was a major factor in our decision to go with Hughes. Chad and Pat did an exceptional job on our installation. They were thorough and careful in working around existing items inside and outside of the house, and very personable and respectful through the project. We have been working with Hughes for the last 10 years on our HVAC needs. They replaced our furnace and blower so that we could have working AC before another Heat Wave hit. They were out here quickly and were able to do the replacement the next day. Chad, Tyler, Chris and the whole Hughes Team were great at communicating with me and addressing this urgent replacement. Can’t say enough good things about Hughes Mechanical. The sales process was great. Chad educated us on our options and kept in constant communication with us. The installation went as smooth as can be expected. Two complete systems were changed out in roughly a day and a half. That’s working hard AND smart. Tyler and Kurt were well mannered, and showed care for our home. They made sure everything was working properly and cleaned-up before their departure. Following the install, Chad called to follow up to make sure we were comfortable and happy. It's been nearly a week since the installation and the Daikin/Goodman equipment has been flawless. The outdoor units are SO quiet! Anyone with a bedroom on the same wall as their outdoor units will appreciate this reduction in noise. (In fact, the new units are so quiet, you’ll probably be upset at how loud your neighbors’ are in comparison.) They look nicer too. This particular model of outdoor unit is more compact; so they don’t stick out into the yard as much. With the mounting brackets that Hughes Mechanical recommended, the installation looks clean and professional. Inside, the new equipment slid right in place of the old. The new Daikin OneTouch thermostats are easy to use, offer all the latest smart features, and actually look nice mounted on the wall. With the settings dialed in by our techs, the house feels more comfortable too. Read Less
